The project and the team

m7red is an independent research and activism group focused on the description and translation of complex urban scenarios.

It’s an initiative led by Mauricio Corbalán and Pío Torroja, started in Buenos Aires in 2005. The increasing complexity of the ecological and socio-technical situations in which we are immersed implies levels of uncertainty that provoke conflicts and controversies; the radical distinctions between humans and non-humans, between experts and non-experts, which once stabilized and marginalized those uncertainties and conflicts, are becoming less and less operative. We need to create conditions to be able to describe and articulate these heterogeneous worlds. Our practice attempts to deconstruct these controversies by generating translation networks among actors involved in complex situations.
